If your question is not here, it will be by launch. Join the waitlist and you will hear from us once, the day it ships.
When does it launch?
Pilot Proper is in development. We will not name a date until we can keep it. The waitlist gets one email the day it ships.
What will it cost?
Planned launch pricing: a free tier, $14.99 one-time for the full prep, and an optional AI Tutor at $4.99 a month or $24.99 for six months. Final prices are confirmed at launch. See pricing.
Is this official FAA material?
No. Our questions are original, written to the FAA's published Private Pilot ACS, and every explanation cites a free FAA source. Pilot Proper is not affiliated with or endorsed by the FAA.
Does it work offline?
Yes. The question bank lives on your phone, so you can study in the FBO lounge with no signal. The optional AI Tutor needs a connection.
Do I need an account?
No. Open the app and start. Your progress stays on your device.
What is an Edition?
An Edition is the question bank for one version of the FAA's Private Pilot ACS. Corrections are always free. When the FAA publishes a major revision, a new Edition follows, planned at $7.99 for existing owners, and free if you bought within 90 days before it.
Why a subscription for the Tutor only?
AI answers cost us money every time you ask. Questions and explanations do not. So the prep is a one-time purchase, and only the Tutor is monthly. If it lapses, everything you own keeps working.
Which devices?
iPhone first. Other devices will be announced on this site when they are scheduled, never before.
What if the FAA changes the rules?
The app tells you when a newer Edition exists, and says plainly that the FAA changed the rules. Your current Edition keeps working.
Do you guarantee a pass?
No one can honestly promise that. We promise questions written to the standard and explanations that teach. Read how the test works.
